Resumen:
En este trabajo se estudia la necesidad técnica de migrar hacia tecnología de fibra óptica
un enlace de datos e internet instalado con medio de transmisión de cobre en red SDH;
ya que requiere de mayor ancho de banda y no puede ser solventado mediante cobre.
La migración del cliente hacia fibra óptica empieza con el análisis de la configuración de
la red actual de los enlaces que el cliente tiene en la red SDH, al tener estos resultados
y confirmar la necesidad de cambio de tecnología se inicia con la valorización de
materiales, equipos y mano de obra necesarios para la instalación de un enlace en fibra
óptica.
Al culminar la instalación física del enlace en fibra óptica con la correcta certificación de
funcionamiento, se realiza la configuración de los equipos terminales, en el cual se tiene
un Swich CISCO, que va a funcionar como equipo concentrador y desde el que se
repartirá el servicio de datos e internet al cliente mediante un solo hilo de fibra óptica
con esto se cumplió con las necesidad del cliente como son: mayor ancho de banda,
mejor estabilidad en el enlace con mejor tecnología y medio de transmisión.

In this paper we study the technical need to migrate to a fiber optic technology an link of
data and internet with copper transmission medium in SDH network; because it requires
more bandwidth and cannot be solved by copper.

confirm the need for change technology begins with the recovery of materials, equipment
and labor required for installation of a fiber optic link.
