Resumen:
El presente trabajo examina la manifestación de los artistas tatuadores de la ciudad de
Quito. La investigación partió de una problemática de visibilidad y promoción por la
que atraviesan los artistas tatuadores de ésta ciudad a nivel nacional e internacional, y
un análisis sobre lo que se conoce y se desea conocer de la corriente cultural del tatuaje
y sus artistas.
La investigación se sustenta en los fundamentos del diseño gráfico, específicamente del
diseño editorial, en los principios de la fotografía y en los preceptos del tatuaje. Una vez
establecida la necesidad se procedió a recopilar información teórica y empírica, a través
de observaciones, encuestas y entrevistas, para obtener datos necesarios que permitieron
elaborar el producto final, que es un libro fotográfico con piezas artísticas
representativas del tatuaje en Quito.

This project examines the manifestation of the tattoo artists of Quito. This paper
examines the manifestation of the tattoo artists of the city of Quito. The research came
from a problem of visibility and promotion facing the tattoo artists of this city, at the
national and international levels, and an analysis of what is known and you want to
know the cultural current of the tattoo and its artists.
Research is based on the fundamentals of graphic design, specifically the editorial
design, on the principles of photography and the precepts of the tattoo. Once established
the need proceeded to gather theoretical and empirical, through observations, surveys,
and interviews, to obtain the necessary information enabling to produce the final
product, which is a photographic book with artistic representative pieces of the tattoo in
Quito.
