Resumen:
Este proyecto de investigación tiene como objetivo producir un docureportaje que permita
conocer la evolución teatral en la ciudad de Quito en el siglo XX, aplicando los sustentos teóricos
y metodológicos en torno a la investigación.
El teatro en la ciudad de Quito en el siglo XX ha tenido un recorrido que le ha permitido
adaptarse a los distintos cambios que han ido surgiendo durante el tiempo, desde sus primeras
manifestaciones hasta la actualidad. El teatro en la ciudad tuvo su primera demostración a través
del grupo los Tzántzicos, grupo de poetas que representaban de manera teatral hechos políticos y
sociales. Más tarde en esa misma época llegó Fabio Pacchioni profesor italiano traído por la ONU
y la Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana; Su llegada a Ecuador marca el inicio de la profesionalización
teatral.
El enfoque adoptado para esta investigación fue del tipo cualitativo porque responde a los
objetivos planteados para este proyecto, se utilizará como instrumento de investigación la entrevista
semiestructurada, enfocada a directores y actores, quienes aportaron con información relacionada
a la evolución del teatro, así como las diferentes técnicas aplicadas, como Stanislavski, El Improv
y el Clown, técnicas que dieron un giro al teatro quiteño.

The goal of this research project is to produce a documentary report that extensively describes and
informs about the evolution of theater in the city of Quito in the Twentieth century, by applying
theoretical and methodological theories to the project by using the research gathered.
Theater in the city of Quito in the Twentieth century has had a history of adapting to the different
changes that have surfaced throughout time, from the beginning of the manifestation of theater
until now. The first demonstration of theater in Quito can be traced back to the Tzántzicos group,
a group composed of poets that represent the political and social aspects of theater. Later within
the same century, Italian Professor Fabio Pacchioni became the first professional figure of theater
in Ecuador, introduced by the United Nations and the House of Ecuadorian Culture.
The research gathered is qualitative data because it answers the objectives given in this project. An
interview was used as an instrument of research that focused on directors and actors. The directors
and actors provided information about the evolution of theater, as well as the different techniques
of theater applied, for example Stanislavski, The Improv and the Clown — techniques in which
gave a taste of Quiteño theater.
