Tras la crisis política en Venezuela, miles de sus ciudadanos migran a diario hacia
distintos países buscando un mejor futuro para ellos y su familia, siendo la frontera entre
Colombia y Ecuador uno de los principales puntos de concentración. El trabajo que se presenta
a continuación muestra las condiciones de vida de dichas personas mediante estudios de caso, a
partir de su llegada al puente de Rumichaca (frontera), siguiendo su trayectoria hacia albergues,
hasta su llegada a la ciudad de Quito, donde algunos deben pernoctar hasta encontrar una
vivienda o partir hacia su siguiente destino. Se aborda también las dificultades laborales que
afrontan desde el trabajo informal, incluyendo a niños, niñas, jóvenes y adultos. La xenofobia
que enfrentan en su diario vivir, y las condiciones de salud y alimentación a la que se enfrentan.
Contado desde la perspectiva de los propios migrantes, incluyendo a todo el grupo familiar:
padres e hijos, hombres y mujeres. Desde personas que apenas tienen una hora en el país, hasta
gente que ya lleva un año en la capital. Sin apartar nunca el lado emocional que van viviendo
día a día y su lucha por un futuro mejor para ellos, esperando algún momento poder retornar a
su país.

Due to the political crisis in Venezuela, thousands of citizens migrate to various other
countries every day in hopes of a better future for themselves and their families. As such, the
border between Colombia and Ecuador is one of their main concentration areas. This
documentary employs various case studies to show the conditions that these people must endure,
starting from their arrival to the bridge of Rumichaca (border) and their stay in safe havens along
the way to their time in the capital Quito. There, they must find ways to survive until they can
find a place to live or continue their journey south. It also highlights the difficulties they face
ranging from unregulated work for both children and adults, xenophobic attitudes towards them,
and health risks due to the extreme conditions in which they live. The story is told from their
own perspective as immigrants but also as parents, sons, men, and women, and includes a variety
of people, ranging from newcomers who have been in the country for little over an hour to others
who have already been living in Quito for a year. It also follows the emotional side of their daily
lives, as well as their battle towards a brighter future with the hope of being able to return home.
