Resumen:
El presente proyecto tiene como principal objetivo el diseño de un Book Infográfico
con información referente a los rasgos culturales ecuatorianos plasmados en el cómic
nacional “Capitán Escudo”, este cómic fue creado en 2006 por Zonacuario y llega en
la edición llamada “Cambiar al Ecuador”. Mediante este book se pretende evidenciar
la identidad nacional a partir del personaje del Capitán Escudo, además de dar a
conocer sobre este cómic, ya que en Ecuador predomina el consumo de cómics
extranjeros, especialmente DC Comics y Marvel.
Para el desarrollo de este producto se realizó un análisis visual de material digital del
cómic proporcionado por la editorial con el fin de analizar los rasgos y
representaciones que éste muestra. Asimismo, se llevaron adelante dos entrevistas,
una de ellas al gerente de Zonacuario y editor del cómic y otra a su actual director
creativo con la finalidad de obtener mayor información sobre el “Capitán Escudo”.
Las infografías son aportes de fácil comprensión cuyo objetivo es brindar datos
concisos y de relevancia sobre el personaje, su construcción gráfica y evolución como
personaje, este beneficiará a diseñadores o aficionados del cómic que busquen
incursionar en el cómic nacional, creando así nuevos aportes gráficos al país.

The main objective of this project is the design of an Infographic Book with
information regarding the Ecuadorian cultural features captured in the national comic
"Captain Shield", this comic was created in 2006 by Zonacuario and arrives in the
edition called "Change to Ecuador" . Through this book we try to show the national
identity from the character of Captain Escudo, in addition to make known about this
comic, since in Ecuador dominates the consumption of foreign comics, especially DC
Comics and Marvel.
For the development of this product, a visual analysis of the digital material of the
comic provided by the publisher was carried out in order to analyze the features and
representations that it shows. Likewise, two interviews were carried out, one of them
to the manager of Zonacuario and editor of the comic and another to his current
creative director in order to obtain more information about the "Captain Shield".
The infographics are contributions of easy comprehension whose objective is to
provide concise and relevant data about the character, its graphic construction and
evolution as a character, this will benefit designers or fans of the comic who seek to
venture into the national comic, thus creating new graphic contributions to the
country.
