dc.description	The titling project was carried out according to the new technologies related to data and telecommunications networks, since a category 5E structured cabling network and a wireless network were implemented, previous studies carried out on the current situation faced by the institute in order to be able to determine the new requirements and equipment necessary for the implementation of the data network. The "Implementation of a data network in the Superior Technological Institute Baños" aims to improve the structured cabling networks, improve Internet distribution in the different departments and implement a wireless access network for students which has its respective policies of security. It was used for the structured cabling network 2 Layer 2 switches with 48 Gigaethernet ports and, for the wireless access network, 3 uniform unifying devices were implemented, 1 Cloud key, for the administration of the network 1 Mikrotik RouterBoard Rb951Ui was used. This work is carried out directly in the Higher Technological Institute of Baños facilities where students are the main beneficiaries in the implementation of the data network as it will facilitate teaching and learning during their stay at the institute. dc.description.abstract	El proyecto de titulación fue realizado de acuerdo a las nuevas tecnologías referentes a redes de datos y telecomunicaciones ya que se implementó una red de cableado estructurado categoría 5E y una red inalámbrica, previos estudios realizados de la situación actual por la que afronta el instituto para poder determinar los nuevos requerimientos y equipamientos necesarios para implementación de la red de datos. La “Implementación de una red de datos en el Instituto Tecnológico Superior Baños” tiene como objetivo mejorar las redes de cableado estructurado, mejorar distribución de internet en los diferentes departamentos e implementar una red de acceso inalámbrico para estudiantes la cual cuenta con sus respectivas políticas de seguridad. Se utilizó para la red de cableado estructurado 2 Switch de capa 2 con 48 puertos Gigaethernet y, para la red de acceso inalámbrica se implementó 3 Uap unifi ac lite, 1 Cloud key, para la administración de la red se utilizo 1 Mikrotik RouterBoard Rb951Ui. Este trabajo se realizó directamente en las instalaciones de Instituto Tecnológico Superior Baños en donde los estudiantes son los principales beneficiados en la implementación de la red de datos ya que facilitará la enseñanza aprendizaje durante su estancia en el instituto.
