dc.description	Football has been known worldwide as big crowds passion, in which not only 11 players are involved, but the player number 12 the fan. That character that follows faithfully to his team because of its colors, professional career path, successes and defeats. The fan is whom embraces an identity based on the support to an institution, and various instances it turns from a simple passion to become a fanatic. In the city of Quito there exist four football teams that have been important to build up football identity among most of the citizens, these same teams will be study subjects for this investigation; the teams are: Sociedad Deportiva Aucas, Liga Deportivo Universitaria, Club Deportivo El Nacional, Sociedad Deportivo Quito. The current work main objective is to proof how the city football influence in the buildup of the identity of the Quito Citizens. This study incorporates a Quality type investigation that seeks to analyze the different points of view, starting whit social studies, sports journalism, Ex- professional football players and also football fans interviews, whit a mindset that looks to understand why the fans identity it matches whit that looks to understand why the fans identity it matches whit that of their favorite club. dc.description.abstract	El fútbol mundialmente es calificado como una pasión de multitudes, en la que no solo tienen que ver 11 jugadores sino el jugador número 12 que es el hincha. Ese personaje que le sigue fielmente a un equipo por sus colores, su trayectoria, sus triunfos y derrotas; quien se apropia de una identidad basado en una institución, que muchas veces pasa de ser una simple pasión a ser un fanatismo. En la ciudad de Quito existen cuatro equipos que han sido importantes en la construcción de identidad futbolística capitalina, los cuales servirán como objetos de estudio para la investigación: Sociedad Deportivo Quito, Sociedad Deportivo Aucas, Liga Deportiva Universitaria y Club Deportivo El Nacional. El objetivo del presente trabajo es mostrar como el fútbol de la capital influencia en la construcción de la identidad quiteña. El estudio cuenta con una investigación de tipo cualitativa que busca analizar los puntos de vista partiendo de la sociología, periodismo deportivo, ex profesionales del deporte y abordando al hincha, con la finalidad de entender porque el hincha se identifica con su club.
