dc.description	The present implementation presents as a solution to the problem that arises about the institutional growth and the increase of the number of students, in relation to the L4-06 laboratory of the Israel University. In this way, the following objective is established: Implement a category 6 structured cabling network that includes an administrable switch that will be used for the configuration of three VLAN’s in the L4-06 Laboratory of networks of the North-Western campus of the Israel University. To achieve the stated objective, the standards to be followed are related to the ANSI / TIA / EIA-606 and EIA / TIA 568-A, the VLSM scheme is used to discriminate the network in the proposed VLAN’s. As a result, an improvement in the speed over the response times of the network is obtained, also an optimization in the addressing and transmission of packets because of the implementation of VLAN’s. In conclusion, the implementation and certification of a structured wiring, facilitates the correct operation, as well as the reduction of unnecessary risks potentially harmful to the performance of the system, and guarantees 99.99% of the availability of the network. dc.description.abstract	La presente implementación surge como solución a la problemática que se plantea sobre el crecimiento institucional y al aumento del número de estudiantes, con relación al laboratorio L4-06 de la Universidad Israel. De esta manera, se establece como objetivo: Implementar una red de cableado estructurado categoría 6 que incluye un switch administrable que será usado para la configuración de tres VLAN’s en el Laboratorio L4-06 de redes del campus Noroccidental de la Universidad Israel. Para alcanzar el objetivo que se señala, las normas que se deben seguir se relacionan a la ANSI/TIA/EIA-606 y EIA/TIA 568-A, adicional se emplea el esquema de VLSM para discriminar la red en las VLAN’s propuestas. Como resultado se obtiene una mejora en la velocidad sobre los tiempos de respuesta de la red, así como la optimización en el direccionamiento y transmisión de paquetes debido a la implementación de VLAN’s. En conclusión, la implementación y certificación de un cableado estructurado, facilita el correcto funcionamiento, así como la reducción de riesgos innecesarios potencialmente perjudiciales para el desempeño del sistema, y garantiza el 99,99% de la disponibilidad de la red.
