dc.description	ABSTRACT The main objectives of this project are; implement a workstation, which consists of two PCs in which two telephone exchanges based on Asterisk will be installed and the elaboration of laboratory guides where the steps to follow for the configuration of these are detailed. Through the investigative method of the survey, conducted to students of the Electronics and Telecommunications career, it was concluded that there is a need to complement the knowledge acquired in the classroom by performing laboratory practices, which would consist of the creation of virtual machines, installation of the Issabel Operating System based on Linux, configuration of the telephone exchange, creation of extensions, dialing plans and interconnection with another telephone exchange. This workstation and its guides would be delivered to the university in order that new students can use it. From the analysis carried out in this thesis, as well as from the information and data collected, it can be concluded that the implementation of a workstation for students is necessary to strengthen their knowledge and thus generate added value in their work development. dc.description.abstract	RESUMEN Los objetivos principales de este proyecto son; implementar una estación de trabajo, la cual consta de dos PC´s en las que se instalará dos centrales telefónicas basadas en Asterisk y la elaboración de guías de laboratorio donde se detallan los pasos a seguir para la configuración de estas. Mediante el método investigativo de la encuesta, realizado a los estudiantes de la carrera de Electrónica y Telecomunicaciones se pudo concluir que existe la necesidad de complementar los conocimientos adquiridos en el aula realizando prácticas de laboratorio, las cuales consistirían en la creación de máquinas virtuales, instalación del Sistema Operativo Issabel basado en Linux, configuración de la central telefónica, creación de extensiones, planes de marcado e interconexión con otra central telefónica. Esta estación de trabajo y sus guías serían entregadas a la universidad con el objeto de que los nuevos alumnos puedan usarla. Del análisis realizado en la presente tesis, así como de la información y datos levantados se puede concluir que la implementación de una estación de trabajo para los estudiantes es necesaria para afianzar sus conocimientos y así generar un valor agregado en su desenvolvimiento laboral.
