dc.description	ABSTRACT This project exposes the results obtained from the implementation of an experimental laboratory module for optical communications, for the development of practices with splicing techniques for optical fibers, and on the other hand the creation of a manual of practices and the application in the Faculty of Engineering of the Israel Technological University. The developed practices are considered fundamental according to the proposal in the project, they are practical laboratories that are needed for the correct understanding of the techniques used in the Telecommunications industry, such as fusion splicing and mechanical splicing, in addition to the transmission of visible light through fiber optics. As a result of the research and work, an experimental laboratory module for Optical Communications was developed with its respective equipment, a manual of three guides for laboratory practices that brings together the topics proposed for this experimental module, as well as a user manual for the electronic equipment called fusionadora proposed in this thesis. dc.description.abstract	En este proyecto se exponen los resultados obtenidos de la implementación de un módulo experimental de laboratorio de comunicaciones ópticas, para el desarrollo de prácticas con las técnicas de empalmes en fibras ópticas, y por otra parte la creación de un manual de prácticas y la aplicación en la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Tecnológica Israel. Las prácticas desarrolladas se consideran fundamentales según la propuesta en el proyecto. Son laboratorios prácticos que se necesitan con el fin de conocer el correcto entendimiento de las técnicas utilizadas en la industria de las Telecomunicaciones, como son empalme por fusión y empalme mecánico, además de la transmisión de luz visible a través de la fibra óptica. Como resultado de la investigación y trabajo, se elaboró un módulo experimental de laboratorio para Comunicaciones Ópticas con su respectivo equipamiento, un manual de tres guías de prácticas de laboratorio que reúne los temas propuestos en este módulo experimental, además de un manual de usuario para el equipo electrónico denominado fusionadora, propuesto en esta tesis.
