Resumen:
El Chaco es un cantón que pertenece a la provincia del Napo, tienen una población
de aproximadamente 7.960 habitantes, el 06 de diciembre del año de 1985, el Concejo
Municipal del cantón Quijos, resuelve la creación del cantón El Chaco y mediante decreto
Legislativo No 094 del 26 de abril de 1988, que es publicado en el Registro Oficial No 943
del 26 de mayo, se crea el cantón El Chaco, con sus cinco las parroquias Gonzalo Díaz de
Pineda (El Bombón), Linares, Oyacachi, Sardinas y Santa Rosa.
En la ciudad del Chaco, la patente municipal es un permiso obligatorio, que deben
de obtenerla de manera anual y contribuir con el Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado
Municipal El Chaco, debido a que mediante esta recaudación de patentes se establece el
presupuesto anual y por ende estos ingresos aportan para la ejecución de obras en el cantón

contribuyentes, son muy pocos los contribuyentes que se acercan a informar en el
municipio los cambios que han realizado en sus negocios.
