dc.description	The creation and illustration of the story book Emilia and the Secret of the Gentle Kingdom was brought about because of the repeated violence demonstrated, whether intentional or not, by children between the ages of 6 and 8, when greeting or interacting with each other at the Paulo Freire School located in the city of Quito. Taking this into account, the creation of an ilustrated story book is proposed as a thesis project with the objective of contributing to the reduction of violence between children. Furthermore, it is determined that the support material in the Paulo Freire School Library is limited, as teachers use their own teaching materials for their clases. The idea was to add activities to the story book to reinforce learning and donate this literacy creation to the Paulo Freire School Library so that children could read it. The story is about a girl that experiences violence by her classmates at school and in the end it gives us a key lesson on how to face the problem. This is a way to decrease violence between peers through communication with children and adults either at home or at school when agressions occur. dc.description.abstract	La creación e ilustración del cuento de Emilia y el secreto del Reino Gentil, surge cuando por reiteradas ocasiones se evidencia la forma violenta en la que los niños entre 6 y 8 años muestran agresión quizá sin intención en la forma de saludar y conversar entre ellos, al llegar a diario al colegio Paulo Freire de la ciudad de Quito. A partir de este acontecimiento se plantea como tema de proyecto de grado la creación de un cuento ilustrado que tenga como objetivo aportar en la disminución de la violencia entre niños, además se determina que el material de apoyo en la Biblioteca del Colegio Paulo Freire sobre este tema es escaso, pues los maestros usan su propio material didáctico y de apoyo para impartir sus clases. Aquí florece la idea de realizar una donación del cuento a la biblioteca del colegio Paulo Freire, con el fin de que los niños puedan leerlo, así también agregar a este, actividades que puedan reforzar el aprendizaje del contenido, tomando en cuenta que el mismo relata la historia de una niña que es violentada en la escuela por sus propios compañeros y en donde al final del relato da una enseñanza clave para enfrentar el problema. De esta forma lograr disminuir la violencia entre compañeros, mediante la comunicación entre los niños y los adultos de la casa o de la escuela cuando surja algún problema de violencia o agresión.
