Resumen:
La presente investigación se desarrolla en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje del
inglés en el Instituto Tecnológico Superior Sucre (ITSS) de la ciudad de Quito. En este
contexto se indaga sobre el medio pedagógico-tecnológico apropiado para mejorar el
proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje del idioma Inglés en el segundo semestre del ITSS. El
objetivo general consiste en elaborar una guía de enseñanza y aprendizaje de Inglés II
utilizando la herramienta eXelearning y la Web 2.0. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo
propositivo, ubicado en el enfoque cuantitativo, cuya importancia radica en que el
aprendizaje del idioma inglés, en un mundo globalizado, amplía las posibilidades de
comunicarse mejor, facilita el acceso a oportunidades laborales y educativas que ayudan a
mejorar la calidad de vida. Con los referentes teóricos, los resultados del diagnóstico y el
apoyo de la herramienta eXelearning y de la Web 2.0 se ha logrado elaborar una guía de
enseñanza y aprendizaje del Inglés II. Esta guía se ha implementado en un sitio web de fácil
acceso para estudiantes y profesores. Finalmente, la guía fue sometida a un proceso de
validación inicial mediante el criterio de especialistas en el ámbito educativo y tecnológico,
quienes la valoraron en forma positiva.

The present investigation is developed in the teaching and learning process of the
English in the Sucre Institute (ITSS) of Quito City. In this context, it is inquired about the
appropriate pedagogical-technological means to improve the teaching and learning process
of the English language in the second semester of the ITSS. The general objective is to
elaborate an English II teaching and learning guide using the eXelearning tool and Web 2.0.
It is a descriptive study, located in the quantitative approach, whose importance lies in the
fact that learning the English language, in a globalized world, expands the possibilities of
communicating better, facilitates access to employment and educational opportunities that
help improve the quality of life. With the theoretical referents, the results of the diagnosis
and the support of the eXelearning tool and the Web 2.0, a teaching and learning guide for English II has been developed. This guide has been implemented in an easily accessible
website for students and teachers. Finally, the guide was subjected to an initial validation
process using the criteria of specialists in the educational and technological field, who valued
it in a positive way.
