Resumen:
Actualmente, los recursos multimedia, las TIC y herramientas web 2.0 son
herramientas importantes en los procesos y sistemas educativos, donde la enseñanza del
inglés se verá potenciado por el uso de las nuevas tecnologías. Por aquello, es importante
desarrollar un entorno virtual para fortalecer la comunicación escrita y oral de los
estudiantes de educación básica en la Unidad Educativa Juan Pío Montúfar. Y con el
desarrollo de procesos de aprendizaje-enseñanza como desde la perspectiva teórica del
constructivismo se utilizó una metodología investigativa mixta con técnicas cualitativas
y cuantitativas. El recurso cuantitativo consiste en una encuesta aplicada a estudiantes y
docentes para recopilar los criterios sobre el uso de estos recursos en la enseñanza de
idioma inglés. La técnica cualitativa consistió en realizar entrevista al tutor de grado sobre
los contenidos recomendados para el entorno virtual. Donde se determinó que el interés
de los estudiantes por aprender el inglés aumenta con el uso de recursos multimedia. Pero
el uso de estos recursos en clases es escaso y limitado por la falta de formación en este
tipo de herramientas de los docentes; por eso, este estudio puede ser un aporte sustancial
para transformar este panorama y potenciar estos procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje.

ABSTRACT
Currently, multimedia resources, ICT and web 2.0 tools are important tools in educational
processes and systems, where teaching English will be enhanced by the use of new
technologies. Therefore, it is important to develop a virtual environment to strengthen the
written and oral communication of basic education students in the Juan Pío Montúfar
Educational Unit. And with the development of learning-teaching processes as from the
theoretical perspective of constructivism a mixed research methodology with qualitative
and quantitative techniques was used. The quantitative resource consists of a survey
applied to students and teachers to compile the criteria on the use of these resources in
English language teaching. The qualitative technique consisted of conducting interviews
with the area head and other experts on the contents recommended for the virtual
environment. Where it was determined that students' interest in learning English increases
with the use of multimedia resources. But the use of these resources in classes is scarce
and limited by the lack of training in this type of teacher's tools; Therefore, this study can
be a substantial contribution to transform this panorama and strengthen these teaching
and learning processes.
