Resumen:
La presente investigación se llevará a cabo en la Unidad Educativa “11 de Octubre” con los
estudiantes de séptimo grado, en el área de matemática, ya que, existe un deficiente nivel de
razonamiento lógico matemático. Se evidencia la poca agilidad mental que tienen los estudiantes para
resolver problemas cotidianos, lo que ha provocado que el rendimiento académico baje, retrasando
los aprendizajes.
La Unidad Educativa “11 de Octubre”, se encuentra ubicada en la comunidad de Catzuqui de
Velasco al noroccidente de Quito, es considerada una zona urbano –marginal. Cuenta con luz, agua,
transporte público irregular pero no cuenta con alcantarillado; además, para llegar a la comunidad no
tiene una carretera asfaltada.
La oferta académica con la que cuenta la institución educativa va desde inicial I hasta tercero de
bachillerato unificado, cada año escolar cuenta con un solo paralelo. En educación básica elemental y
media las docentes son alternadas de acuerdo al perfil y necesidad de cada grado o curso.
Cuenta con internet institucional en el laboratorio y la parte administrativa; El laboratorio de
computación dispone de 19 computadoras y un proyector para el uso de todos los estudiantes de la
institución. Además, existen redes abiertas por parte del ministerio de telecomunicación MINTEL y
municipio de Quito, TELCONET.
