| Resumen : | El aprendizaje del idioma Inglés cada día se torna de manera más importante y necesaria dentro del ámbito profesional y por ende del educativo también, demandando exigencias cada vez más fuertes dentro de la formación académica. América Latina muestra un avance significativo dentro del dominio de la lengua inglesa a partir de los inicios de la pandemia por COVID-19 según indica el EPI (English Proficiency Index) edición 2021. “El nivel de inglés en América Latina mejoró durante la pandemia, y más del 70% de los países de la región vieron crecer su dominio durante el 2020” (LATINA, 2022) En 2021, como resultado de una evaluación sobre competencias en el idioma Inglés realizada por la empresa internacional de educación Education First (EF) Indica que Ecuador muestra un leve aumento en el dominio del Inglés obteniendo 440/1000 en comparación al 2020 donde obtuvo 411/1000 ((EF), 2021). Lo que lo sitúa aún en un bajo nivel de dominio de la lengua siendo el antepenúltimo país en Latinoamérica superando solo a México. Dichas cifras se pueden evidenciar dentro de las aulas escolares ya que los estudiantes no muestran el conocimiento que deberían tener al estar en determinados niveles. En el período octubre 2021 – febrero 2022 en la Universidad de Otavalo, se pudo notar que los estudiantes de tercer nivel, los cuales corresponden a un nivel B1 según el marco común europeo, no cuentan con el conocimiento adecuado; Mostrando así, un nivel más bajo de comprensión A2 especialmente en la destreza de Reading and Writing. Lo que dificulta en gran manera que los estudiantes puedan comprender los contenidos propuestos para dicho nivel. |
| Descripción : | Learning the English language every day becomes more important and necessary within the professional field and therefore the educational one as well, demanding demands every stronger within the academic formation. Latin America shows progress significant within the domain of the English language from the beginning of the pandemic by COVID-19 as indicated by the EPI (English Proficiency Index) 2021 edition. "The level of English in Latin America improved during the pandemic, and more than 70% of the countries in the region they saw their dominance grow during 2020” (LATINA, 2022) In 2021, as a result of an evaluation of English language skills carried out by the international education company Education First (EF) Indicates that Ecuador shows a slight increase in English proficiency, obtaining 440/1000 compared to 2020 where obtained 411/1000 ((EF), 2021). What still places him at a low level of command of the language being the penultimate country in Latin America, surpassing only Mexico.
